Inclusive walks are taking place on 21st August and 4th & 18th September in central Huddersfield – Leeds Road Sports complex to Aspley Marina.
Experience Community is an organisation that arranges guided walks for people with disabilities and the wider community; their main aim is to enable, help and encourage people with disabilities to get out and about in the countryside to experience the wildlife, the weather and the landscape away from towns and cities.
Much of their work is carried out with the help of volunteers and there are opportunities available for people to train to become walk leaders and walk assistants to help participants get to, and take part in, the walks. Volunteers can offer various levels of support, from picking up participants from their home to giving a wheelchair a helpful push up a slope where needed.
To reserve a place on one of the walks, and to discuss any particular needs for participants please contact Laura Vayro (on Tuesdays and Thursdays) on Tel: 01484 437 435, or email laura@experiencecommunity.co.uk or Craig Grimes at cgrimes@experiencecommunity.
