About Kirklees Local Offer
The Kirklees Local Offer is for families of children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (aged 0-25).
The Local Offer contains information about services relating to special educational needs, disabilities, education and more for children and young people. Following feedback from parents, it was redesigned in 2020 in conjunction with PCAN parents and carers and young people.
It is part of the Children and Families Act which brought in a number of important changes about support and services. Our local offer will continue to develop over the coming months with the support of PCAN (Parents of Children with Additional Needs) and a new Local Offer Team who can be contacted via the website. Young people are also being invited to help design the children and young people section. Check out the video below for more information:
If your child or young person has, or you believe may have, special educational needs and/or disabilities, please consider adding their details to the Kirklees additional needs register. This information will help tell us what The Council needs to include in the Local Offer and help with planning services to meet local need.
