FEDS Kirklees has been set up with the purpose of providing a place for parents/carers to meet up and share their experiences of dealing/caring for a loved one who suffers from an eating disorder. We hope that by being able to share their experiences will empower parents/carers into being able to deal with the devastating effects that eating disorders have on not only the sufferer but also their families.
Our first meeting will be on the 22nd February 2012 at 6.30pm this will very kindly be hosted by Voluntary Action Kirklees (VAK) at 15 Lord Street, Huddersfield, HD1 1QB
It is hoped that we will have regular monthly meetings and eventually depending on how the group takes off or how much support there is for the group that we will also raise awareness of eating disorders in schools and with general practitioners and also dentist regarding the early detection of the illness.
