The “Huddersfield Town Ability Counts Football Programme” is an exciting new opportunity for disabled young people to enjoy playing football whilst being coached by HTAFC Football in the Community (FITC) coaches. The FITC coaches have experience of supporting players with additional needs.
The aim of the club is to enable players to develop their own skills in a non-competitive environment; however, players will also have the opportunity to progress to represent HTAFC in the junior division of the West Riding County Football Association Ability Counts League.
The club will launch on Sunday 20 January at 3p.m. and will run on subsequent Sundays from 3 until 4p.m. Sessions will take place at The Zone, off St. Andrew’s Road, Huddersfield. The Zone has many facilities including a café which can be used by parents who need to stay on site, as well as a play gym for siblings who will be able to use the facilities free of charge.
Any young people taking part in the club on a regular basis will also have an opportunity to attend stadium tours.
Parents or young people who are interested should contact James Doyle on 07540 127683 to discuss the programme and register their interest as well as booking a place.
