Volunteer Patient Helper/Supporter – Based at the Child Development Centre, Dewsbury District Hospital
Locala’s Children’s Therapy Service is made up of a multi-disciplinary team which includes Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Play Therapy. The team work with children aged 0-16 years.
They treat a wide range of conditions using specialist skills, which could include: · Communication and/or feeding and swallowing difficulties · A delay or difficulty in acquiring physical, social and educational skills The Patient Helper/Supporter volunteer role is based in the Child Development Centre at Dewsbury District Hospital, Halifax Road, Dewsbury, WF13 4HS. The role involves:

Choice empowers individuals to obtain the health and social care services they need. Providing the public and patients with high quality information enables them to make effective choices that are right for them and their families.
There are a range of choices that patients should expect to be offered in the NHS services they use. Patients using health services should, as a minimum, be able to say:

Tandem Trekkers are at Leeds Road Sports Complex this Saturday 15th July, from 12 till 2pm, as we are always wanting enthusiastic cyclists as sighted “pilots” or visually impaired to get involved on the back as “stokers”?
