North Kirklees GPs – services at weekends

Following a successful trial, weekend appointments for urgent health needs in North Kirklees are continuing throughout the summer months.

Patients registered with any North Kirklees GP practice can request a GP appointment for urgent health problems on Saturday and Sunday mornings by calling 01924 351499 between 8am and 11.30am each weekend.

The service, provided by Curo Health – a local federation of GP practices – will assess the patient’s condition by phone and, if appropriate, offer them an appointment at one of two health centres. The service covers urgent medical treatment, urgent medication and urgent medical advice.

Patients can also call NHS 111 when they need urgent medical advice or attention for a non-life threating health problem that’s not a 999 emergency. NHS 111 is a fast and easy way to get the right medical help and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones. For more information visit NHS111
