Kirklees Council have now published their Medium Term Financial Plan (MTFP) for 2015-18 which sets out the huge financial savings they need to make and draft options for achieving these budget reductions. They are running a two-phase consultation process to get residents views about what are priorities for them and how the budget should be allocated.
Phase 1 is an initial consultation about the broad principles underpinning the budget options. The council are asking people to get involved and tell them their views on these areas. You can also make any other comments about the budget, or put forward ideas for doing things differently. This first phase of consultation starts on Monday 8th September and will run for four weeks, closing on Friday 3rdOctober.
Phase 2 (starting on 27th October and running for six weeks until 5th December 2014) will then focus on some of the specific budget options.
You can find out more about the budget consultation and how to take part at www.kirklees.gov.uk/budget2015 – this webpage includes an information booklet and feedback form for submitting your responses for Phase 1.
