Kidzaware are delivering FREE training courses to parents /carers of disabled children and adults and service providers on the following dates:
Thursday 20th March Session 1 – Confidence Building Stress and Anger Management. This course will increase the confidence of those attending and gain skills around stress management and will provide skills that can help each individual to feel confident and able to address their own individual issues and those whom they may provide support to.
Thursday 27th March Session 2– Addressing the Needs of Families with Disabled children/adults. This session looks at the needs of families with disabled children /adults and the health issues and barriers they face. We will also provide much needed information and tools to provide better access to services
Thursday 3rd April Session 3 – What Is Mental Health and Addressing hidden disabilities. This section looks at mental health what it is, how it affects individuals, and supporting carers of individuals with a mental health need. We will cover a range of information, addressing hidden disabilities the impact , looking at medication to emergencies at home and discuss ‘a day in the life of a carer .
Thursday 10th April Session 4- Equality Duty and Disability Awareness. This course will provide the attendees with the knowledge and skills around the Equality Duty and other legislation around diversity and equality and provide a greater insight and understanding of disability awareness. Addressing employment issues, further education what laws there is and how they work, and how we can start working in partnership with one another
Thursday 17TH April 2014 Session 5 – Taking care of your needs as a disabled person /carer and knowing your rights. This course will provide information and knowledge on taking care of your individual needs as a disabled person/carers or individual, the course will help individuals address their own individual needs, their rights to employment and what Services are available to help support them in the workplace plus their rights and services available to help them.
All training sessions will take place at Batley Resource Centre, 90 Commercial Street, Batley, WF17 5DS from 9.30am -2.00pm.
