Independent Parental special Education Advice (IPSEA) offers free and independent legally based information, advice and support to help get the right education for children and young people with all kinds of special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities. IPSEA gives advice and support on:
- Local Authorities’ legal duties to assess and provide for children with special educational needs
- Exclusions of children with special needs/disabilities
- Action/inaction by Local Authorities and/or schools which discriminate against children and young people with disabilities
IPSEA has created a Foundation level e-learning training course covering the law relating to the education and training of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEN). The cost is £79 per person and has 10 online modules. This could be of interest to parents as well as professionals.
They are also offering the opportunity to subscribe to IPSEA’s SEN Law updates. These will cover the law relating to the education and training of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEN). You will receive at least one update each term for 12 months. Updates’ for 12 months costs £20 during September 2014. From 1/10/14 the cost will be £29.
